From 26 August to 4 September 2010, the second edition of the international visual arts symposium 'panta rhei' will be held, organized by the FMC Department of Visual Arts. Five artists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany will work in the Department of Visual Arts in Uherské Hradiště and, afterwards, in the 'mmcité' company in Bílovice. Their works will be presented to the public in the Centre for Urban Equipment in Bílovice at 16:00 on Saturday, 04/09/2010.

From 19 to 20 July 2010 the FMC Student Affairs Department will be closed due to graduation ceremonies, to be held in the Assembly Hall (U2 building).
The FMC buildings will be closed to students from 7 to 22 August 2010.
The documentary entitled 'Hospital at the World's End' (http://www.hospitalfilm.com/) will take us to West Himalaya aka Karakorum. Mr Tomáš Vynikal, a FMC student specializing in audiovisual arts, was in charge of the producer and editing of the movie, Mr Robin Závodný, a FMC student focusing on advertising photography, was the graphic designer.

The Studio of Advertising Photography has been invited by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund (Germany) to participate in a joint workshop organized within the long-term project entitled “Welten am Fluss”. The project aims at photographic monitoring of the revitalization and the current state of the river Emscher (Ruhr, Germany) during 20 years, with 7 authors or creative teams from the Studio participating in the project. An exhibition of works by all students will be held in the town of Recklinghausen, the venue of the workshop.

The Faculty of Multimedia Communications succeeded in obtaining the accreditation of the Ph.D. programme in Visual Arts, degree course in Multimedia and Design, and that from the academic year 2010/2011.
Mr Viktor Pischinger, a graduate from the FMC Studio of Advertising Photography, took the second place in the international photography contest “PX3 Prix De La Photographie Paris” with five pictures from the set “Sea Drift”, included in his Bachelor’s thesis. The third edition of the exhibition entitled Interchange/Terminal and showing Bachelor’s and Master’s theses by FMC students will be opened at 18:00 on 17 June 2010.

On 8 June 2010 the exhibition entitled "Vapour in Transport" will be opened. The project is implemented within the Operation Programme “Education for Competitiveness”. For more information on the project and on the exhibition (in Czech) please refer to the

Mr Jiří Stejskal, a fifth-year student at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, received the award for the best director at the international festival of student films (MIFEC) organized by the university Escola Superior Artistica do Porto (ESAP) in Porto (Portugal), and that in recognition of his documentary entitled "Jama". The seventh edition of the festival took place in Porto between 18 and 22 May 2010. During the festival, 55 movies of various genres were screened, produced by 17 film schools from 11 countries. At present Mr Stejskal studies at the
Baltic Film and Media School in Tallinn.
Ms Pavlína Jašková, a second-year student at the Studio of Graphic Design, was awarded the runner-up prize in the competition Young Package 2010, in the category "universities". The topic of this year’s edition was "Sweets Packaging". A Canadian student from Montreal was awarded as the winner of this international competition featuring more than 530 works. We would like to congratulate the successful student on this wonderful accomplishment, to be credited not only to the Studio but also to the whole Faculty of Multimedia Communications.

A mini-exhibition of posters by Mr Dušan Nečas, a student at the Department of Visual Arts (FMC), will take place in the Library of Bedřich Beneš Buchlovan in Uherské Hradiště. The exhibition entitled "Auschwitz-Birkenau" will be on view until 30 June 2010.
An exhibition of works by students at the FMC studios entitled "Object Drawings" will be opened on the 1st floor in the FMC building (U4) at 15:00 on Tuesday, 18 May 2010. The exhibition will be opened from 19 May to 20 September 2010 between 8:00 and 17:00 (on working days).
The Studio of Graphic Design would like to inform you that a retrospective exhibition entitled “Studio of Graphic Design” will take place in the Orlovna Gallery in Kroměříž between 11 and 31 May 2010. The exhibition will open at 17:00 on 10 May 2010.
