The Open Day at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications will take place on Friday, 20 January 2012, and that for applicants interested in the degree programme in Media and Communication Studies, degree course in Marketing Communications. Presentations will be given in the U44 building (Štefánikova 2431, Zlín) at 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00. The visitors will be shown around the building and enabled to see the equipment.
An exhibition of photographs by MgA. Jana Jindra entitled "Journeys of Franz Kafka [183 KiB] " will open in New York on 3 November 2011.
We would like to invite you to attend the opening day of the exhibition entitled GRANICA/HRANICE (BORDER) and featuring photographs taken by students of photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (Poland) and at the TBU Faculty of Multimedia Communications during a joint project. The event will take place in the lobby of the TBU Rectorate at 18:00 on Wednesday, 2 November 2011.
BcA. Kateřina Mešťánková, a fifth-year student, and Mr. Pavel Juřík, a second-year student, both of them at the at the Studio of Advertising Photography, were among the winners in the category ‘Canon Junior Awards 2011’ in this year’s edition of the Czech Press Photo competition.

The opening ceremony of the visual arts symposium ‘panta rhei’ will take place in the ‘mmcité’ company in Bílovice at 16:00 on Saturday, 3 September 2011.
Three students at the Shoe Design Studio were successful in the fifth edition of the competition of young shoe designers organized by Jan Pivečka Foundation in cooperation with the Czech Footwear and Leather Association in Zlín and with Brno Trade Fairs.
Kateřina Huňová and Hana Kundrátová from the TBU Faculty of Multimedia Communications achieved the greatest success of Czech advertising in the post-revolutionary period, and that in Cannes (France). In the Young Lions Competition intended for younger generation interested in creativity in communications, they took gold in the Media category. Both of them recent graduates from the degree programme in Marketing Communications, they beat 21 international teams that participated in the competition.
The doctoral study programme Visual Arts (formerly Plastic Arts) , course: Multimedia and Design, held in the English Language, has been recently accredited by The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, with the validity period from academic year 2011/2012 until 2013/2014.
Study in the PhD.programme is implemented in a full-time mode or a part–time mode.
The standard length of study is 3 years.
The details on the admission procedure for academic year 2011/2012 will be publicly announced during June or July 2011.
Tomáš Vynikal and Roman Machanec, students of the Studio of Audiovisual Arts, are the editors of the animated film ‘Les amis du Chat’, which is shown in the museum “Musée les Arts Décoratifs” in the Louvre between 9 June and 6 November 2011 and will be screened in the Czech Centre in Paris on the opening day of the exhibition of works by Petr Nikl on 29 June 2011. Two films, with one of them directed by Otakar Šterba and the other one by Jiří Novák, which have been produced by Tomáš Vynikal, are being shown at the international independent on-line festival ‘Green Unplugged 2011’, organized jointly by the USA, India, New Zealand and Indonesia.
Students of the Studio of Advertising Photography (FMC) participated in one of the biggest photography festivals in Europe, this time held in Zingst (Germany). The event included about 30 exhibitions, among them also an exhibition of works by students.
Veronika Nováková, a student of the Graphic Design Studio, became the overall winner of the international poster contest on the subject of HOLOCAUST—KEEPING THE MEMORY ALIVE, and that in competition with more than 300 works by students from three countries – the Czech Republic, France and Israel. Two more FMC students, Peter Chmela and Petr Nehera, joined the final round featuring a total of 16 posters. These selected posters will be on display in the building of the UNO in New York and in major European towns.
Works by students of the Product Design Studio and of the Glass Design Studio are on display in the lobby of the U13 building, including the laser harp made by Mr Ondřej Puchta, which won a special award in the international GRAND PRIX MOBITEX 2011 competition.
The jury of the student section of the international GRAND PRIX MOBITEX 2011 competition gave a special award to Mr Ondřej Puchta, a student at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications (Product Design Studio), for his unique laser harp.
The Studio of Advertising Photography at FMC UTB in Zlín would like to invite you to attend the exhibition entitled “IN STANT”, to be held between 7 and 24 April 2011 in the ‘Na chodbe’ Gallery at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. A retrospective exhibition entitled “Studio of Graphic Design” will take place in the U13 building from 23 to the middle of April 2011. The event is held under the auspices of Doc. MgA. Jana Janíková, ArtD, Dean of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications The exhibition will open at 17:00 on 23 March 2011.

Five current students and one graduate of the FMC Studio of Advertising Photography were presented with five awards out of nine during the latest edition of the international contest FOTOFRAME010. One of the students received the Leica Gallery Prague Special Award. Since Thursday, 6 January 2011 all awarded works have been on display in this gallery.

Mr Tomáš Vynikal, a FMC student specializing in audiovisual arts, was in charge of the producer and editing of the movie, Mr Robin Závodný, a FMC student focusing on advertising photography, was the graphic designer.
